Drapers Awards!

Curvy Girl is proud to announce that we've been nominated for the prestigious Drapers Awards!

This is fantastic news for a small boutique like us. We're up for 'Best New Business'.

A judge came to interview us a few weeks ago now but we won't know if we've won till the ceremony on 19th November. Exciting stuff!

we're up against some tough contestants but fingers crossedwe can do it and triumph for Curvy Girls everywhere

London calling

We've just returned from a hectic 4-day buying trip in London. Had a fantastic time and it has make me very excited for Summer 2009! Here are some of the highlights....

Coral!
Whether you call it coral, mango, salmon or tangerine it is going to be the key colour for 2009. We've bought a selection of tops, dresses and skirts that feature this fantastic vibrant colour. It's great to see something bright and bold rather than the dull pastels of 2008.

Anna Scholz!
We visited Anna's showroom in London and we're very excited about the burst of colour that greeted us. Anna has created some gorgeous printed dresses and caftans for Summer 09 that you'll all be drooling after. She also featured a lot of ruffles including a flattering vest top which will be a 'must-have' for jeans, Capri's and black trousers.

Pure!
Pure is a major fashion trade show that takes place twice a year in London. We visited on Sunday and were instantly inspired by everything we saw. Pure is a great place to find new brands! We stumbled across a new brand called 'With Love' that we instantly fell for! So we've placed an order for Summer 09. Expect bright cashmere boleros, paisley print maxi dresses and cardi's with vintage button detail.

Hello 2009 Already!

Well on Monday i am off to start buying my new stock for Summer 2009!



Although it's only July all of the major tradeshow events kick off in the next 2 weeks. Your future fashion fate lies in my hands...



It's an exciting time! We're off down to London for 5 days serious buying (wish it was all for me :-) ) all hard work of course with lots of appointments to keep us busy!



So in the next 2 weeks i'm going to know what you will all be wearing in July 2009. I promise i will do you proud and find the most sassy, stylish and well fitting clothes for you.



I'm thinking dresses and flirty tops to match the must have Tummy Tuck Jeans!

What's with the weather!

So much for summer this year!




Today i find myself wearing knee high boots and 70 denier tights to try to fend of the "summer" weather- i mean i even have a cold! Not quite what i had planned for July.




And (sorry to depress you) the weather is not set to change over the next few weeks.









Whether it's down to global warming and set to stay or just a blip in an otherwise scorching summer it cant help but get you down.









Something that always helps to make you feel better.... shopping! And why not grab a bargain and buy something practical at the same time.
